OpenAI Tutorial

1.Go to the website https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys, and log in or sign up.

2. Navigate to the API KEYS page, create a new API KEY, and copy it.

3. Paste the key into the “1001 Nights” AI configuration-OPENAI key section.

4.Model Selection:

After pasting the OpenAI key in the game, you can click [Check Available Models] to see the model availability. You can also just press [OK], and the system will select the best model based on the permissions of your key. Each new user gets an API key token worth $5, which only supports the use of the gpt-3.5-turbo-1106 model in the beginning. This is the most cost-effective model, ensuring a smooth gaming experience.

5. (Optional) If you can use the gpt-4 and gpt-4-1106-preview models, you can achieve the best experience! However, new users need to link a payment method and incur costs over $5 to use them. If interested, you can follow the configuration as shown below.

6. After confirmation, the system will check the connection. Please wait about 20 seconds, and after that, you can start the game!

Note: If you've linked a payment method, we recommend setting a usage limit.

FAQ

After entering the token, the self-check keeps failing on LLM, preventing game access. 

Please first click on [Model Check] to confirm the token's validity. 

If the model is valid but you still can't access the game, it's likely due to a lack of quota. In such cases, the error "Insufficient_quota" will appear post-LLM. 

You can continue usage by linking a payment method according to this tutorial.

I am a GPT member and can use GPT-4, but my model check shows I can only use gpt 3.5.

You might be a member of the GPT web version at https://chat.openai.com, an OpenAI web application, which is different from the API key mentioned in this tutorial (https://platform.openai.com). 

Similarly, even as a GPT member, you might encounter the aforementioned quota issue. Once you link a payment method to the API, you can use it normally.
